About the position:
This position will be assigned to the 30 FSS/Force Development Flight Library.
Duties
Is responsible for all programs service operations. Plans, organizes, coordinates, and oversees long range and day-to-day library outreach and programming. Develops and implements programs and services incorporating a variety of educational and recreational activities that stimulate and sustain the social, cognitive, physical, and emotional growth of youth, Young adult and adult patrons. Actively seeks out grant and sponsorship opportunities and partners with community members to enhance and sustain programming. Recruits and supervises a volunteer force for large events. Coordinates with Library director in the development and implementation of marketing and publicity of library services and events and prepares appropriate displays.
Maintains continuous oversight and directly supervises all program operations and activities to ensure they comply with DoD, Air Force, and local policies, guidelines, and standards and are appropriate and effective. Performs other related duties as assigned.

In order to qualify, you must meet the experience requirements described below. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student; social). You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. Your resume must clearly describe your relevant experience; if the position allows for qualifying based on education, your transcripts will be required as part of your application.
Qualifying Experience:
Must have specialized experience in a library, educational, or other setting that provided specific knowledge of developing and implementing programming that educates, stimulates and enhances quality of life.
Work requires some physical exertion such as long periods of standing; recurring activities such as bending, crouching, stooping, stretching, and reaching; pushing loaded book trucks; and recurring lifting of moderately heavy items
Must be physically able to frequently lift boxes of up to 40 pounds.
Must be able to reach up to 72 inches with or without the assistance of a step stool.
Must be able to satisfactorily complete a pre-employment physical.
Must possess skill in dealing with the public

Education
Some federal jobs allow you to substitute your education for the required experience in order to qualify. This position does not allow for education substitution.
FOREIGN EDUCATION: Education completed in foreign colleges or universities may be used to meet the requirements. You must show proof the education credentials have been deemed to be at least equivalent to that gained in conventional U.S. education program. It is your responsibility to provide such evidence when applying.
