Duties

You will make preliminary visual inspections and perform operational tests to determine components causing malfunctions or invalid readings. You will review and interpret manufacturers' specifications, schematics, block diagrams and technical manuals to determine the operation of circuits. You will determine work sequence of repair projects. You will use a variety of test equipment such as oscilloscopes, pulse and signal generators, distortion and waveform analyzers, digital generators, digital voltmeters, frequency and pulse counters and special test panels. You will set up and operate computer controlled Automatic Test Equipment (ATE). You will perform normal industrial housekeeping duties.

Requirements

  • Must be a US Citizen.
  • Must be determined suitable for federal employment.

  • This position is considered Key/Emergency-Essential. You will be required to provide immediate and continuing support to ensure the success of combat operations or the availability of combat-essential systems.
  • Successful completion of a pre-employment drug test (including marijuana) is required. A tentative offer of employment will be rescinded if you fail to report to the drug test appointment or fail the test. You will be subject to random testing.
  • You will be required to obtain and maintain a U.S. Passport.
  • The position often requires irregular hours. This position requires evening and weekend work.
  • You will be required to obtain and maintain a current valid United States driver’s license.
  • You will be required to successfully complete a pre-appointment physical examination.
  • This position may require travel from normal duty station to CONUS and OCONUS and may include remote or isolated sites. You must be able to travel on military and commercial aircraft for extended periods of time.
  • You will be required to complete training, obtain, and maintain a government credit card for travel and travel-related purchases.
  • You will be required to pass periodic medical examinations and may require physical agility tests.
