About the Position: This position is located at Headquarters, Training and Doctrine Command, Training, Security Assistance Training Field Activity, Fort Eustis, VA. Fort Eustis, Virginia is located in Newport News, between historic Williamsburg and Virginia Beach. Local Transportation via the Hampton Roads Transit bus service to the surrounding area. This is an obligated position.

Duties

Serves as a key advisor and authoritative consultant on matters pertaining to the International Military Student (IMS) training and Security Cooperation policy. Studies and recommend changes to information networks to improve the quality of reports and coordination between organizations. Plans and executes multiple, simultaneous projects IAW DoD and Army policies. Communicates effectively on status of projects and issues and makes recommendations; exercises wide latitude in providing policy advice. Serves as lead for Security Cooperation Workforce Development (SCWD). Develops Operations and Task orders from higher-level guidance; staffs and tracks orders and other items related to IMS administration and support through to task completion IAW TRADOC processes.

Requirements

  • Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
  • This position requires the incumbent be able to obtain and maintain a determination of eligibility for a Secret security clearance or access for the duration of employment.
  • This position has a Temporary Duty (TDY) or business travel requirement of 25% of the time.
  • Due to the nature of this position, employees are required to work both planned and unscheduled overtime.
  • Incumbent will be required to complete Security Cooperation Workforce Development Intermediate Certification within three years of being employed with SATFA.

Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes: 1) developing procedures for implementing Security Cooperation Workforce Development initiatives; 2) developing statistical data surveys to support procedures related to the International Military Students offices; 3) performing studies to ensure regulatory guidance governing the Security Cooperation Training Program are in compliance. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-12).
