You will serve as a MARINE MACHINERY MECHANIC SUPERVISOR I in the REPAIR DEPARTMENT, MACHINERY DIVISION of TRIDENT REFIT FACILITY, BANGOR WASHINGTON.
Duties
You will be planning the use of subordinate workers, equipment, facilities and materials on a month-to-month basis.
You will be establishing deadlines and priorities
You will be redirecting individual workers and resources to accomplish unanticipated work and informing higher level supervisors of the need to revise work schedules and re-estimate labor and other resources
You will be investigating work related problems; implementing corrective actions and recommending solutions to staffing problems, engineering requirements and work operations.
You will be Inspecting work of subordinates while in progress and at completion of projects.
You will be Providing higher-level supervisors with written and verbal status, and maintaining correct job progress.
Requirements
- You will be required to obtain and maintain an interim and/or final security clearance prior to entrance on duty. Failure to obtain and maintain the required level of clearance may result in the withdrawal of a job offer or removal.
- You will be required to wear personal protective equipment such as helmets, gloves, coveralls, glasses, goggles, respirators and safety shoes continuously for the duration of the work shift.
- Work is performed in areas where potentially harmful physical and chemical agents are present (e.g. fumes, dust, heat, ionizing and non-ionizing radiation and chemicals). You will be required to participate in medical surveillance programs.
- Supervisors in the executive branch have a heightened personal responsibility for advancing government ethics. You will be required to review the 14 General Principles of Ethical Conduct at 5 CFR 2635.101.
- Must know requirements for SubSafe, Level I and REC controlled work.
- You must be able to move in and out of cramped and restricted spaces on board submarines to visually inspect jobs and make decisions.
- Must be able to climb vertical and inclined ladders, kneel and crawl through tanks and superstructures.
Qualifications

Qualification requirements emphasis is on quality of experience, not necessarily the length of time.
