ADDITIONAL INFORMATION: Multimedia Specialists design, produce, and finish interactive products. They apply understanding of a range of software applications (e.g., interactive authoring, graphic design, animation) and programming languages to integrate graphics with text and audio. They apply user interface design principles to presentation products to create a positive user experience.Activities include importing and exporting data, archiving, electronic publishing, and creating and enhancing images.Front-End developers will produce HTML, CSS, and JavaScript for web applications so that a user can see and interact with them directly. They build the front-end of technologically sophisticated web-based visualization products that are driven by intelligence collected from various sources. MANDATORY QUALIFICATION CRITERIA: For this particular job, applicants must meet all competencies reflected under the Mandatory Qualification Criteria to include education (if required). Online resumes must demonstrate qualification by providing specific examples and associated results, in response to the announcement's mandatory criteria specified in this vacancy announcement: 1. Demonstrated experience with visualization and conveyance to create interactive products that clearly communicate data reporting (i.e. website, interactive maps, dashboards).2. Demonstrated experience using front-end web development languages, including HTML, CSS, and JavaScript.3. Ability to create wireframes, design mockups, and/or storyboards to create User Interface (UI) layouts in preparation for customer consultations.4. Demonstrated experience using Adobe Creative Cloud's suite of tools including Adobe Illustrator, Adobe Photoshop, and Adobe InDesign.5. Experience working with customer requirements and problem solving.EDUCATION REQUIREMENT: A. Education: Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university in Commercial Art, Computer Science, Visual Communication, Web Design, Media Arts, Animation, or a related field. -OR- B. Combination of Education and Experience: A minimum of 24 semester (36 quarter) hours of coursework in any area listed in option A, plus experience in interactive multimedia design or a related field that demonstrates the ability to successfully perform the duties associated with this work. As a rule, every 30 semester (45 quarter) hours of coursework is equivalent to one year of experience. Advanced training in a vocational school, technical institute, or art institute above the high school level in one of the fields listed above is creditable as general experience on a month-for-month basis. Candidates should show that their combination of education and experience totals 4 years. -OR- C. Experience: A minimum of 4 years of experience in interactive multimedia design or a related field that demonstrates the ability to successfully perform the duties associated with this work.DESIRABLE QUALIFICATION CRITERIA: In addition to the mandatory qualifications, experience in the following is desired: 1. Experience with User Experience (UX) methodologies including usability testing and 508 compliance.2. Experience with development tools such as NodeJS, NPM, Git, PHP, Python, MySQL, and/or JavaScript frameworks such as Vue, React, or Angular.3. Experience using video editing, interactive development and/or animation software such as Adobe Animate, Adobe After Effects, and/or Adobe Premiere Pro.
