You will serve as a ENVIRONMENTAL PROTECTION SPECIALIST in the NAVAL HEALTH CLINIC of NMRTC ANNAPOLIS MD.

Duties

You will monitor waste and material management processes to ensure compliance with environmental protection regulations. You will recommend best method for waste treatment, recycle or reuse, minimization, neutralization, or disposal. You will analyze environmental data to recommend methods of pollution abatement or control. You will advise senior leaders on environmental, safety, and occupational health requirements.

  • You will be required to obtain and maintain an interim and/or final security clearance prior to entrance on duty. Failure to obtain and maintain the required level of clearance may result in the withdrawal of a job offer or removal.
  • This position may require travel from normal duty station to CONUS and OCONUS and may include remote or isolated sites. You must be able to travel on military and commercial aircraft for extended periods of time.
  • You will be required to obtain and maintain a current valid United States driver’s license.
  • This position is subject to work an uncommon tour, including nights, weekends, and holidays to meet mission requirements. Overtime or night differential pay and/or unusual duty hours may be required.

Qualifications

Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-10 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: Experience managing a wide variety of programs and activities involving patient care, medical research and development, medical education, and training, reviewing complex inspection reports and identifies corrective actions. Experience performing quality control and technical inspections involving pharmaceuticals and medical supplies. Experience preparing detailed environmental documentation regarding proposed actions to meet Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) guidelines. Experience serving as an environment of Care Member: serving as a Lead on the hazardous Materials Management Sub-Committee in the review of metrics, analysis of hazardous material deficiencies within the Clinics, and recommends corrective action to the Environment of Care Committee. Education

Successful completion of a master's or equivalent graduate degree
OR
Successful completion of two full years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to a master's degree
OR
