As a supervisor/manager, the selectee for this position will be eligible to receive a Manager Performance Incentive (MPI) provided eligibility requirements noted in agency policy are met. The MPI is an annual lump-sum incentive payment that considers agency performance, the manager's individual performance, and available funding.This position is located in the Air Traffic Organization, Management Services Directorate, Field Technical Requirements & Forecasting Group (AJG-P2).
Duties
The Academy New Hire Program Manager applies experience and expert knowledge of program and/or project management fundamentals to manage the day-to-day administrative activities involving new student hires to the Air Traffic Control Academy by serving as the supervisor for all Air Traffic Control Specialist (ATCS) Academy students. Plans and accomplishes highly complex and challenging projects/programs and other work activities under the minimal direction of the manager. Applies knowledge of Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) hiring policies and objectives to facilitate and guide the facility placement program for new hire ATCS who successfully complete academy training. This work directly affects the ATO's ability to meet ATCS hiring goals to ensure the safe and efficient operation of the National Airspace System.

- US Citizenship is required.
- Selective Service Registration is required for males born after 12/31/1959.
- Must submit an SF50 (See Required Documents)
- Unless previously completed, the incumbent must satisfactorily complete a 1-year probationary period to remain in this supervisory or managerial position.
Qualifications
To qualify for this position, you must demonstrate in your application that you possess at least one year of specialized experience equivalent to the FV-I, FG/GS-13 level. This experience is typically related to the line of work of the position to be filled and which has equipped the applicant with the particular knowledge, skills, and abilities to successfully perform the duties of the position. To be creditable, specialized experience must have been at least equivalent to the next lower level in the normal line of progression for the occupation in the organization.Specialized Experience is defined as:Experience analyzing and evaluating the effectiveness of new programs. ANDExperience creating and maintaining project plans, leading ad hoc team meetings to track progress of ATCS Academy Students/technical trainees in a training environment and monitoring/managing program tasks to assess whether hiring goals are being met. __________________________________________________________________________You should include relevant examples of the specialized experience in your work history.
