As a supervisor/manager, the selectee for this position will be eligible to receive a Manager Performance Incentive (MPI) provided eligibility requirements noted in agency policy are met. The MPI is an annual lump-sum incentive payment that considers agency performance, the manager's individual performance, and available funding.The incumbent serves as Assistant Division Manager for the Training Services Support Division, AMA-020 within the FAA Academy.

Duties

This Program Manager position requires a detailed knowledge of the technical aspects of the work directed and a thorough understanding of the organization's and Academy's objectives. The incumbent oversees the Training Services Support divisional programs and manages complex administrative, business, and financial activities to ensure consistency and standardization across the division. The incumbent assists the Division Manager and other senior staff members regarding activities, business planning, and resource management for programs/projects. The incumbent manages the work of a large, multi-level organization, typically through subordinate managers. The incumbent integrates the work of multiple organizations to accomplish the mission, goals, and objectives of the organization and FAA.

Requirements

  • Selective Service Registration is required for males born after 12/31/1959.

  • A one-year managerial probationary period may be required.

Qualifications

To qualify for the FV-K (FG-15) you must demonstrate in your application that you possess at least 52 weeks of specialized experience equivalent to the FV-J (FG-14) level. Specialized experience is experience that has equipped you with the particular knowledge, skills, and abilities to perform successfully the duties of the position, and that is typically in or related to the work of the position to be filled.Specialized Experience includes: Experience managing short- and long-range planning activities that include multi-year work plans that are the products of subordinate organizational projects/programs; experience with resource management, learning theories, adult learning principles, and training technology; experience with allocating budgets to accomplish multiple programs and projects; experience leading groups and teams in support of continuous improvement.Applicants should provide examples of Specialized Experience in their work history. Qualifications must be met by the closing date of the announcement.
