Qualifications
We are looking for at least one year of specialized experience related to this position as described below:
To qualify for the GS-13 level, you need to have at least one year of full-time experience equivalent to the GS-12 level defined as monitoring program activities and making recommendations to managers pertaining to Environmental Education or Environmental Justice.
Your answers to the online assessment will be used to evaluate your competencies in the following areas:
Knowledge of management and organizational principles and practices.
Knowledge of the design and conduct of comprehensive management studies.
Ability to represent the region before communities, non-governmental organizations, and elected representatives with regard to highly visible policies, plans and programs.
Skill to plan, organize and direct team study work and to negotiate effectively with management to accept and implement recommendations.
Knowledge of qualitative and quantitative methods for the assessment and improvement of program effectiveness.
Knowledge of the substantive nature of program and activities; EPA missions, policies and objectives.
Skill in written communication.
Skill in oral communication.
Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional, philanthropic, religious, spiritual, community, student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.
