Duties

This position allows you to use your experience and expertise to provide substantive clerical support to logistical management. This position starts at a salary of $46,696.00 (GS-7, Step 1) to $60,703.00 (GS-7, Step 10) with promotion potential to $60,703.00 (GS-7 Step 10). The Supply Technician provides support services to ensure that supplies, property, and other material requirements utilized are in stock and available. Duties and responsibilities include: Providing support to the supply program including ordering, receiving, inventorying and transferring supplies; maintaining controlled and reportable inventory using computer records, preparing documents, and shipping supplies/inventory to various on and off-site locations; ensuring that supplies are readily available to support the organization; Placing orders for materials, supplies and services using a Government Purchase Card; preparing purchase order requests; ensuring maximum competition and adherence to procurement and purchasing guidelines are met; Performing preliminary steps such as requesting bids or quotes from venders, adequately describing the items needed ensuring that appropriate items are purchased to meet needs; Monitoring purchases actions to ensure deliveries are timely, received and errors are reconciled; informing supervisor of potential problems and actions taken to initiate resolution; preparing and submitting receiving reports to the local approval official; ensuring documentation is placed in proper files and closed out; reconstructing missing records and supply transactions.

Qualifications

Experience: You qualify for the GS-07 grade level if you possess 1 year of specialized experience equivalent to at least the next lower grade level, performing duties such as: Providing support services to include ordering, receiving, inventorying and transferring supplies, property and equipment in accordance with law, regulation and local policy; Maintaining inventory records and files; conducting reviews of purchases and inventories; participating on management studies; investigating inventory discrepancies; and compiling information for reports regarding lost, stolen, or damaged property Using material handling equipment such as forklifts, pallet jacks and hand trucks; following safety protocols and protective equipment to complete tasks Adapting supply policies, regulations and procedures to the current situation; assisting delivery drivers with unloading and loading of delivery vehicles NOTE: Your resume must explicitly indicate how you meet this requirement, otherwise you will be found ineligible. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. You must: Meet all qualification requirements, including education if applicable to this position, subject to verification at any stage of the application process; and Meet all applicable Time in Grade requirements (current federal employees must have served 52 weeks at the next lower grade or equivalent grade band in the federal service) by 12/01/2023.
