About the Position: This position is located at the William Beaumont Army Medical Center, Logistics, Purchasing in El Paso, TX.
Duties
Serve as the primary ordering official responsible for managing vendor orders.
Review annual budget estimates submitted for medical supplies.
Advise clinical departments on medical/surgical costs for budgeting and supply purposes.
Monitor obligations and expenditures throughout the budget year.
Execute daily cycle count procedures to identify inventory discrepancies.
Provide direct on-site total customer logistics support to the hospital, outlying Clinics, and Fort Bliss Units.
Requirements
- Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
- A Personnel Security Investigation is required.
- Immunization screening is required. Hepatitis B immunization is required for all positions with direct patient contact. Applicants may be required to show proof of other immunizations depending on the type of position.
- Heavy lifting up to 45 lbs. may be required.

One year of specialized experience which includes conducting inventory of medical supplies, preparing supply requests for orders, utilizing automated supply systems to order supplies, and maintaining supply files and records. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-07).
Some federal jobs allow you to substitute your education for the required experience in order to qualify. For this job, you must meet the qualification requirement using experience alone--no substitution of education for experience is permitted.
