The primary purpose of this position is: To exercise second level supervisory and managerial authorities in various divisions of Headquarters Air Force Strategic Deterrence and Nuclear Integration (AF/A10).
Duties
Plans, organizes, and oversees the nuclear activities of the Headquarters Air Force Strategic Deterrence and Nuclear Integration AF/A10 Division.
Exercises supervisory personnel management responsibilities.
Represents AF/A10 divisions with a variety of installation and functional area organizations.
Actively manages and works a variety of division-specific directed initiatives that cover the spectrum of AF/A10 nuclear activities and operations.
Identifies resources needed and establishes milestones and goals.

- Must be able to obtain and maintain a Top Secret clearance and Sensitive Compartmented Information security clearance is required.
- This is a Centrally Managed Position in the Operations Career Field. PCS will be paid in accordance with JTR Vol. 2 and applicable Air Force Regulations.
- This position is subject to provisions of the DoD Priority Placement Program
- Work may occasionally require travel away from the normal duty station on military or commercial aircraft.

- "This is a Supervisory Position." A 1 year supervisory probationary period is required if applicant selected has not previously met this requirement.

Condition of Employment Continued:
Position is designated Special Sensitive and requires eligibility for access to Sensitive Compartmented Information (SCI), other intelligence-related Special Sensitive information, or involvement in Top Secret Special Access Programs (SAP) to fully perform the duties and responsibilities of the position. A non-disclosure agreement must be signed.
This position has been designed by the Air Force as a Testing Designated Position (TDP) under the Air Force Civilian Drug Demand Reduction Program. Employee must pass initial and periodic short notice drug testing. Illegal drug use by employees in sensitive positions present a clear threat to the mission of the Air Force, national security, and public safety.
In order to qualify, you must meet the specialized experience requirements described in the Office of Personnel Management (OPM) Qualification Standards for General Schedule Positions, Miscellaneous Administration and Program Series, 0301.
SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE: Applicants must have at least one (1) year of specialized experience at the next lower grade GS-14, or equivalent in other pay systems. Examples of specialized experience includes knowledge of nuclear capability and assessments, Countering Weapons of Mass Destruction (CWMD); Department of Defense (DoD) Foreign Clearance Program (FCP); policy and strategy to meet the safety, security, reliability, and effectiveness objectives of NC3/NLCC environments; cross-functional nuclear capabilities and force development of the nuclear mission enterprise; and knowledge of safety and security regulations, practices, and procedures.
FEDERAL TIME-IN-GRADE (TIG) REQUIREMENT FOR GENERAL SCHEDULE (GS) POSITIONS: Merit promotion applicants must meet applicable time-in-grade requirements to be considered eligible. One year at the GS-14 level is required to meet the time-in-grade requirements for the GS-15 level. TIG applies if you are in a current GS position or held a GS position within the previous 52 weeks. NOTE: Applicants applying as VEOA candidates who are current GS civil service employees or are prior GS civil service employees within the past 52 weeks must also meet time-in-grade requirements.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES (KSAs): Your qualifications will be evaluated on the basis of your level of knowledge, skills, abilities and/or competencies in the following areas:
1. Knowledge of nuclear capability and assessments, Countering Weapons of Mass Destruction (CWMD); Department of Defense (DoD) Foreign Clearance Program (FCP); policy and strategy to meet the safety, security, reliability, and effectiveness objectives of NC3/NLCC environments; cross-functional nuclear capabilities and force development of the nuclear mission enterprise of AF/A10.
2. Knowledge of safety and security regulations, practices, and procedures.
3. Ability to plan, organize, and direct the functions and mentor, motivate, and appraise the staff of an organization through subordinate supervisors.
4. Ability to analyze, plan, and adjust work operations of one or more organizational segments to meet program requirements and objectives within available resources.
5. Ability to communicate both orally and in writing.
6. Ability to meet and deal with senior military and civilian officials at all levels of Government, including experience in interacting with Public Affairs and Congressional staff members.
PART-TIME OR UNPAID EXPERIENCE: Credit will be given for appropriate unpaid and or part-time work. You must clearly identify the duties and responsibilities in each position held and the total number of hours per week.
VOLUNTEER WORK EXPERIENCE: Refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service Programs (i.e., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student and social). You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.
