This position is located at a Department of Veterans Affairs facility. The incumbent of this position performs as a Laborer requiring moderately heavy physical effort. The work requires the use of common hand tools and simple power equipment.
DIRECT HIRE AUTHORITY: This position is being filled using Direct-Hire Authority (COVID-19 - VA 004) in-accordance with 5 U.S.C. 3304(a)(3) and 5 CFR 337.205(b)(1)-(4).
Duties
Major Duties include, but not limited to: Lifting and moving moderately heavy objects such as furniture and equipment by hand, hand truck or dolly; maintaining grounds using manual equipment to fill holes, rake leaves, or dig ditches; using simple powered equipment such push lawn mowers, edgers, trimmers, etc., to maintain grounds; collecting and emptying garbage cans. Stripes parking lots, utilizing a gasoline-powered striping machine; shovels snow; and performs other related duties as assigned.
Work frequently requires moderately heavy physical effort. There is frequent lifting and carrying objects up to 40 pounds. Incumbent may occasionally lift items up to 50 pounds.
Work Schedule: Monday - Friday 7:00am - 3:30pm
