The primary purpose of this position, Management Support Specialist, GS-0301-09, is to serve as the Aircraft Maintenance Group (AMXG) administer/manager for Group organic training needs: ensures needs are correlated ordered, scheduled, filled and redistributed as needed and documented to completion.
Duty Title: Training Monitor
Duties
Oversee quality program/initiatives relative to Training Requirements.
Schedule employees for all required training classes conducted by in-house training instructors using the TSS system.
Provide assistance and participates in discussions, meetings, and serves on panels and committees.
Enter completed training data into the TSS and ETMS system from training rosters received from MAQII, Wing training section and any other organic training unit or inorganic organization.
Understand and follow governing instructions/directives/policies as they pertain to training management.

Qualifications
Experience requirements are described in the Office of Personnel Management (OPM) Qualification Standards for General Schedule Positions, Administrative and Management Support Positions. Due to the use of 120-day rosters, this period of experience may be completed within 120 days of the closing date of this announcement.
SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE: Applicants must have at least one (1) year, or will have one year within 120 days of the closing of this announcement, at the next lower grade GS-07, or equivalent in other pay system. Specialized experience is knowledge of procedures and processes of management and organizational methods, principles and practices directly relating to training within the Wing. Skill in applying analytical knowledge and concepts to the planning and accomplishment of a variety of assignments of a procedural and factual nature. Knowledge of variety of training regulations and training concepts to provide consultative assistance to management and other Center and Wing personnel.

EDUCATION: Have successfully completed master's or equivalent graduate degree or 2 full years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to such a degree LL.B or J.D., if related. NOTE: You must submit a copy of your transcripts.

COMBINATION OF EXPERIENCE AND EDUCATION: Have equivalent combinations of successfully completed in excess of 1 full years of graduate level education or superior academic achievement and specialized experience directly related to the work of the position as outlined above that meets the requirements of the position. NOTE: You must submit a copy of your transcripts.
FEDERAL TIME-IN-GRADE (TIG) REQUIREMENT FOR GENERAL SCHEDULE (GS) POSITIONS: Merit promotion applicants must meet applicable time-in-grade requirements to be considered eligible. One year at the GS-07 level is required to meet the time-in-grade requirements for the GS-09 level. TIG applies if you are in a current GS position or held a GS position within the previous 52 weeks. Due to the use of 120 day rosters, applicants within 120 days of completion of TIG requirements are encouraged to apply.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES (KSAs): Your qualifications will be evaluated on the basis of your level of knowledge, skills, abilities and/or competencies in the following areas:
Ability to communicate effectively in writing and orally.
Ability to gain cooperation from others through facts, courtesy, and diplomacy.
Ability to gather, assemble and analyze facts, draw conclusions while conducting audits and surveys.
Skill in the use of the computer and the ability to learn new and various computer programs.
Knowledge of regulations, policies and practices related to the personnel of the Wing Division.
Knowledge of the structure and flow of the Center and Wing Training organizations and procedures.
The skill to adapt to an ever changing training program.
PART-TIME OR UNPAID EXPERIENCE: Credit will be given for appropriate unpaid and or part-time work. You must clearly identify the duties and responsibilities in each position held and the total number of hours per week.
VOLUNTEER WORK EXPERIENCE: Refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service Programs (i.e., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student and social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge and skills that can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS: The work is primarily sedentary. Some physical exertion may be required, walking, standing, or lifting and carrying 25lbs and over with assistance. May be required to enter industrial area and follow all safety requirements.
WORK ENVIRONMENT: The work involves everyday risks and discomforts typically associated with office, training room or similar settings. Work areas are adequately heated, lighted and ventilated. Visits to production areas to discuss training issues with employees and supervisors are infrequent and relatively free of hazard to the employee, but all safety rules and regulations are to be adhered to.
