About the Position: The IT Specialist (Security) is located in the COMMUNICATIONS ELECTRONICS COMMAND (CECOM), Chief Information Officer G-6, Office of the G-6 Cybersecurity Division (BA), at Aberdeen Proving Ground (APG), MD.
Duties
Conducts detailed analysis of security requirements for new systems or modification to existing systems.
Conducts detailed information assurance assessments of systems.
Analyzes data and prepares recurring progress/status reports and exception/problem reports, to ensure that all concerned parties are notified of Authorized to Operate (ATO) status and problem areas.
Represents the command or organization at conferences, working group meetings, program status reviews, and design reviews for assigned systems.
Requirements
- Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
- This position requires incumbent be able to obtain and maintain a determination of eligibility for a Top-Secret security clearance, or access, for duration of employment.
- This is a drug tested designated position; a drug test will be required.
- This position is subject to a one-year probationary period unless the appointee has previously met the requirements as described in 5 CFR Part 315.
- This position requires temporary duty/business travel of up to 15%.

This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the Federal service (GS-11/NH-02).
