About the Position:
Carlisle Barracks is an installation at the center of the Army and Department of Defense Senior Leadership educational programs. This historic post supports missions such as the U.S. Army War College, (including the Center for Strategic Leadership, Strategic Studies Institute and USAWC Press, U.S. Army Heritage and Education Center), and Department of Health Agency, Peacekeeping and Stability Operations Institute, and the Installation Management Command.
Duties
Serve as technical assistant for a team of faculty instructors
Maintain close coordination with teaching departments to ensure a seamless transition to the department’s portion of the core curriculum
Assist in the development of lesson materials for core curriculum and elective courses
Prepare documentation and other printed material for reproduction and make decisions concerning the most cost effective method of reproduction
Submit requests for copyrights and maintain suspense files
Initiate supply orders and maintain necessary records
Type a variety of correspondence, educational materials, reports and letters
Prepare instructional support material to include graphics and the application of diverse software programs designed for classroom support
Requirements
- Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
- Must be able to obtain and maintain a SECRET security clearance.
- Must be able to type 40 words per minute.

To qualify based on your experience, your resume must describe at least one year of specialized experience which prepared you to do the work in this job. Specialized experience is defined as: 1) assisting in the preparation and development of program specific requirements, such as course materials; 2) maintaining information utilizing automated systems, such as Learning Management System/Student Information System; 3) coordinating travel and lodging arrangements and confirming itineraries; 4) submitting requests for copyrights. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the Federal service (GS-06) or equivalent pay band.
