Duties
Serve as technical assistant for a team of Faculty Instructors in the U.S. Army War College (USAWC), Center for Strategic Leadership (CSL).
Maintain familiarity with established standards for Professional Military Education at the Senior Service College-level and ensures curriculum for the Department complies with them.
Assist with preparation and execution of command programs, projects, and evaluation associates with civilian and military accreditation.
Reviews course content to assist with preparation of course materials, structure and sequence.
Submit requests for copyrights and maintain suspense files on status of the requests.
Teach and advise faculty regarding use of Learning Management Systems (LMS) and Student Information Systems (SIS).
Coordinate guest speaker appearances, to include, travel and lodging arrangements, administrative support, and monitoring of itineraries.
Requirements
- Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
- This position has a Temporary Duty (TDY) or business travel requirement of 5% of the time.
- The duties of this position meet the criteria for compliance with Federal and Department of the Army Drug Free Workplace Programs. This position is subject to a pre-employment screening, and random testing thereafter.
- This position requires the incumbent be able to obtain and maintain a determination of eligibility for a Secret security clearance or access for the duration of employment. A background investigation and credit check are required.
- Appointment to this position is subject to a one-year probationary period unless the appointee has previously met the requirements as described in 5 CFR Part 315.

In order to qualify, you must meet the education and/or experience requirements described below. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student; social). You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. Your resume must clearly describe your relevant experience; if qualifying based on education, your transcripts will be required as part of your application. Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience, which includes: 1) Assisting in the preparation and/or development of program-specific requirements, such as, course materials, course curriculum, or instructional support materials; 2) Maintaining information and/or content in various automated systems, such as, Learning Management System/Student Information System (LMS/SIS); 3) Coordinating travel arrangements or monitoring travel itineraries; AND 4) Submitting requests for copyrights and/or ensuring clearance from copyrights. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-06).

Education: One full year of graduate level education in a field which demonstrates the knowledge, skills, and abilities necessary to do the work of the position, such as, Business, Education, or another related field.
OR
Combination of Education and Experience: A combination of education and experience may be used to qualify for this position as long as the computed percentage of the requirements is at least 100%. To compute the percentage of the requirements, divide your total months of experience by 12. Then divide the total number of completed graduate semester hours (or equivalent) by 18. Add the two percentages.

Proficiency Required: This position requires a qualified typist. A qualified typist can type 40 words per minute based on a 5 minute sample with three or fewer errors.
Time in Grade Requirement: Applicants who have held a General Schedule (GS) position within the last 52 weeks must have 52 weeks of Federal service at the next lower grade or equivalent (GS-06).
