About the Position: Carlisle Barracks is an installation at the center of the Army and Department of Defense Senior Leadership educational programs. This historic post supports missions such as the U.S. Army War College, (including the Center for Strategic Leadership, Strategic Studies Institute and USAWC Press, U.S. Army Heritage and Education Center), and Department of Health Agency, Peacekeeping and Stability Operations Institute, and the Installation Management Command.
Duties
Submits requests for copyrights of course curriculum and materials.
Prepares course curriculum materials to include graphics by using software programs designed to support classroom instructions and virtually broadcasted programs.
Schedules travel arrangements for guest speakers and training faculty members.
Maintains office and suspense files for training programs.
Orders and maintains records of training materials and office supplies.
Types a variety of correspondence, reports, educational materials and letters for final format.
Prepares documentation and printed material for reproduction using most cost effective methods.
Reviews transition of curriculum to teaching department’s portion of the core curriculum.
Assists faculty with preparing lesson materials for core curriculum and elective courses.
Requirements
- Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
- Must be able to obtain and maintain a SECRET security clearance.

In order to qualify, you must meet the experience requirements described below. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student; social). You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. Your resume must clearly describe your relevant experience; if qualifying based on education, your transcripts will be required as part of your application. Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes assisting with the following: (1) preparing lesson materials for reproduction and copyrighting; (2) coordinating travel arrangements and itineraries for guest speakers; and (3) using computer applications to enter and maintain course/student records; order supplies; and prepare correspondence, letters and reports. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-06 or above).
Must be able to type 40 words per minute.
