You will serve as a Supervisory Public Affairs Specialist of COMNAVREG MIDLANT NORFOLK.

Duties

You will supervise employees in the execution of public affairs matters. You will direct special events, ceremonies, tours and other activities intended to develop interest in agency programs. You will lead conferences or meetings with outside activities to discuss issues.

Requirements

  • Must be a US Citizen.
  • Must be determined suitable for federal employment.

  • You will be required to obtain and maintain an interim and/or final security clearance prior to entrance on duty. Failure to obtain and maintain the required level of clearance may result in the withdrawal of a job offer or removal
  • This position may require travel from normal duty station to CONUS and OCONUS and may include remote or isolated sites. You must be able to travel on military and commercial aircraft for extended periods of time.
  • Supervisors in the executive branch have a heightened personal responsibility for advancing government ethics. You will be required to review the 14 General Principles of Ethical Conduct at 5 CFR 2635.101.

Qualifications

Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-12 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: 1) Reviews work of public affairs offices at all bases within the region to ensure accuracy; 2) Assigns and reviews work daily, weekly and/or monthly to maintain production, efficiency, and effectiveness.; 3) Establishes long range work plans and/or schedules for the headquarters PA staff; 4) Ensures implementation of goals and/or objectives are met to successfully fulfill the missions' goals; 5) Conducts midterm and annual performance evaluations and recommendations for awards; 6) Manages the department budget to ensure accurate data.
