About the Position: The incumbent will serve as an ASAP Prevention Branch Chief at the Directorate of Human Resources - Army Substance Abuse Program (ASAP) Division in Fort Riley, KS.
Duties
Provide guidance to personnel regarding related substance use and abuse and its effects on readiness.
Ensure appropriate substance abuse prevention education is available to the serviced population.
Confirm Employment Assistance Program (EAP) services and appropriate referrals are provided to clients.
Administer the ASAP prevention budget.
Coordinate the drug testing team ensuring adherence to strict quality control measures and policies.
Monitor all aspects of the risk reduction program to include suicide prevention functions.
Develop performance plans to generate appraisals accordingly.
Distribute workload among personnel.
Issue standard operational program procedures.

Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes 1). Coordinate functions of the substance abuse and suicide prevention programs to ensure accomplishment of organizational missions; 2). Provide guidance to leadership regarding high-risk behaviors in order to promote healthy coping skills; and 3). Distribute workload among personnel based on priorities to meet operational deadlines.
This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-11 or above).
