About the Position: The incumbent will serve as an Army Community Services Operations Officer at the Directorate of Morale, Welfare, and Recreation/Army Community Servies Division in Fort Riley, KS.
Duties
Develop and implement programs regarding military relations such as volunteering, training family members, mobilization and deployment activities, employment readiness, financial readiness, relocation services, etc.
Evaluate military related community programs to ensure clients' needs are being addressed and met.
Administer the operational budget according to program requirements.
Assign workload to personnel throughout the organization based on mission priorities in order to achieve organizational goals.
Serve as a liaison with civilian and military related social and human service organizations to coordinate services based on clients' needs.
May act on behalf of the Army Community Services Director or serve as Acting Director.
Requirements
- Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.

- Defense National Relocation Program will NOT be authorized.
- Incumbent subject to serve a supervisory probationary period.

In order to qualify, you must meet the education and experience requirements described below. Basic Requirement for Army Community Service Operations Officer must be met first:
Degree: behavioral or social science; or related disciplines appropriate to the position.
or
Combination of education and experience that provided the applicant with knowledge of one or more of the behavioral or social sciences equivalent to a major in the field.
or
Four years of appropriate experience that demonstrated that the applicant has acquired knowledge of one or more of the behavioral or social sciences equivalent to a major in the field.
In addition to meeting the basic requirement above, to qualify for this position you must also meet the qualification requirements listed below:
Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes 1). Coordinate services according to the well-being of clients' needs within the local community; 2) Generate reports from computerized databases to analyze statistics regarding the budgetary program requirements; 3). Ensure standard operating procedures outline program services offered to meet the needs of the community; and 4). Assign work to personnel based on mission requirements to ensure organizational deadlines are met.
This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-12 or above).
