Duties

You will serve as a Supply Technician, GS-2005-05/06/07 in the Project Support Division (Code 530) of the Supply Department for Pearl Harbor Naval Shipyard and Intermediate Maintenance Facility, Pearl Harbor, Hawaii. You will monitor and maintain inventory accounts for non-expendable equipment in the Material Access Technology (MAT) database system. You will complete and periodically update the appropriate fields in the equipment inventory program for capitalized equipment using the applicable computer programs. You will monitor, conduct spot checks, and inventory all items listed in the assigned equipment inventory listings and reconcile assigned equipment accounts. You will ensure the storage, issuance, replenishment and surveillance of supply line items. You will execute proper inventory adjustments to ensure stocking criteria are met. You will monitor and review reports, history distribution, inactive items, usage demand analysis and stock status. You will ensure that supplies are maintained at the established user requirement levels. You will conduct extensive searches for required information; reconstruct records for complex supply transactions; and provide supply operations support for unique supplies, equipment, and parts. You will fill requests for office supplies, forms or other assigned commodities from the secondary inventory points, utilizing the appropriate computer programs. You will provide informal training on the use of the MAT system for supply facility workers, including how the system works, and how to use bar code scanning devices to upload and download inventory data. You will operate and manage the supply storage room functions. You will inventory, stock, requisition and utilize bar code devices to ensure that all stock levels are maintained at sufficient levels needed to support the organization's mission. You will review and validate all bills and invoices received for items obligated for authenticity, appropriateness, and pricing. You will maintain accurate records and files of all permanent transactions, purchases, receiving reports and other records. You will monitor all fund control functions to ensure accuracy. You will reconcile purchase card orders within the periods specified in applicable directives relating to running balance data, quarterly reports, and other databases to gather information required.

  • You will be required to wear personal protective equipment such as helmets, gloves, coveralls, glasses, goggles, respirators and safety shoes continuously for the duration of the work shift.
  • Work is performed in areas where potentially harmful physical and chemical agents are present (e.g. fumes, dust, heat, ionizing and non-ionizing radiation and chemicals). You will be required to participate in medical surveillance programs.
  • This position may require travel from normal duty station to CONUS and OCONUS and may include remote or isolated sites. You must be able to travel on military and commercial aircraft for extended periods of time.

TO QUALIFY FOR GS-7: Your resume must also demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-6 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: Applying a thorough knowledge of supply policies and procedures to provide supply operations support for an organization. TO QUALIFY FOR GS-6: Your resume must also demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-5 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: Applying knowledge of supply policies and procedures to assist in proving supply operations support for an organization. TO QUALIFY FOR GS-5: Your resume must also demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-4 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: Applying knowledge of supply policies and procedures to assist in proving supply operations support for an organization. Education


TO QUALIFY FOR GS-7: Education may be substituted for specialized experience as follows:
  • One full year of graduate level education in a field of study directly related to the position; OR
  • A combination of experience and graduate education as described above that equates to one year of experience.
TO QUALIFY FOR GS-5: Education may be substituted for specialized experience as follows:
  • Successful completion of a full four-year course of study leading to a bachelor's degree in a field of study directly related to the position; OR
  • A combination of experience and education as described above that equates to one year of experience.
There are no authorized education substitutions to qualify for this position at the GS-6 grade level.
