About the Position: This Administrative Support Assistant (OA) position is located with the Evans Army Community Hospital (EACH), located at Fort Carson, CO.
Duties
Inputs timecards
Collects and reviews reports for accuracy.
Receives and controls incoming correspondence, plublication and regulation
Operate automated equipment with features such as database, word processing, telecommunications and spreadsheets.
Place calls for supervisor, maintain calendar and schedule appointments based on prior commitments.
Requirements
- This position requires a typing proficiency of at least 40 words per minute (WPM) based on a 5-minute sample with 3 or fewer errors.
- This is a mission essential position performing a Mission-Critical function which must continue uninterrupted after the occurrence of an emergency and continue through full resumption of all functions.
- Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
- This position may require rotating shifts (i.e. work schedule that requires employees to continuously rotate from one shift to another at predetermined intervals).
- Selectees will be required to sign a statement (Condition of Employment) consenting to seasonal influenza vaccinations or must provide a recognized exemption.
- Immunization screening is required. Hepatitis B immunization is required for all positions with direct patient contact. Applicants may be required to show proof of other immunizations depending on the type of position.

Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes interacting with customers/staff over the phone and in person; utilizing automated systems to generate a variety of correspondence and reports; organizing/scheduling meetings, making travel arrangements, responding to inquiries, and/or implementing office procedures. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-05).

Proficiency Required:This position requires a qualified typist. A qualified typist can type 40 words per minute based on a 5-minute sample with three or fewer errors.

Time in Grade Requirement: Applicants who have held a General Schedule (GS) position within the last 52 weeks must have 52 weeks of Federal service at the next lower grade or equivalent (GS-05).
