About the Position: The U.S. Military Entrance Processing Command, headquartered in North Chicago, IL, is a jointly staffed command, staffed by representatives of all branches of the Armed Forces. The command, through its 65 military processing locations (Military Entrance Processing Stations (MEPS)/Remote Processing Stations (RPS)), determines whether applicants are qualified for enlistment based on standards set by each of the services.

Duties
Serve as the Chief of the Budget Execution Division for the Office of J-8 Resource Management.
Directs staff implementing the General Fund Enterprise Business System (GFEBS) to improve performance, standardize processes, and ensure the Army meets its future financial management needs.
Responsible for monitoring execution of all funding from Headquarters level, the Sectors, to the Battalions down to MEPS level.
Responsible for financial policy (appropriated funds) provided by higher headquarters (OSD, DA) and disseminated to HQ MEPCOM staff and Field Support Branch.
Requirements
- Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
- This position is designated as non-sensitive and requires a personal security background investigation.
- Incumbent must obtain and maintain a Financial Management Certification Level II.
- Incumbent must submit a Financial Disclosure Statement, OGE-450, upon entering the position and annually.
- One year supervisory probationary period may be required.
Qualifications
APPOINTMENT INFORMATION:
Position may be filled as a temporary promotion or detail NTE (1 year) by a current permanent Army employee. Temporary promotions may be extended up to a maximum of five years. Position may be made permanent without further competition. Employees currently located in OCONUS (foreign or non-foreign) are not eligible for a detail to a CONUS position.

Specialized Experience Required: To qualify based on your experience, your resume must clearly describe at least one year of experience which prepared you to do the work in this job. Specialized experience is defined as experience that is typically in or related to the work of the position to be filled, such as: Providing management guidance in administering the total budget program; Monitoring the execution phase of a budget program; and Reviewing budget requests for organizations to ensure they conform to upper management requirements The definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-12)
