We are seeking a highly-motivated professional applicants, with experience in conducting evaluations, inspections, or reviews, in support of our mission to detect and deter waste, fraud, abuse, and misconduct in DOJ programs and personnel, and to promote economy and efficiency in those programs.
Duties
If selected for this position, you will join a well-respected office that is responsible for evaluations, inspections, and reviews of DOJ programs. As a Program Analyst, you will perform the following duties, typically in a team environment as a team member, and occasionally as the sole analyst for specific products of limited scope.
The Program Analyst will actively participate in and assist teams that review DOJ programs and functional areas to assess compliance with applicable laws, regulations, policies, and procedures, or participate in sensitive and complex congressional or DOJ management inquiries referred for review.

Qualifications
To qualify for this position at the GS-09 and the GS-11 grade levels, you must meet the requirements obtained in either the Federal service or Private Sector as stated below.
GS-9: You must have successfully completed a Master's or equivalent degree or 2 years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to such a degree; OR have 1 year (52 weeks) of specialized experience at or equivalent to a GS-7 Program Analyst Position; OR a combination of education and experience as listed below.
Examples of specialized experience for the GS-343-9 level include but are not limited to: 1) Collecting and analyzing information from diverse data sources; 2) Interviewing individuals using structured questionnaires; 3) Evaluating internal and external policy; 4) Communicating complex and/or controversial issues both in writing and verbally; 5) Possessing sound knowledge of how to use various databases and spreadsheets, and developing graphs, charts, and other data visualizations to organize, analyze, and present a variety of data.
GS-11: You must have successfully completed a Ph.D or J.D. or equivalent doctoral degree or 3 full years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to such a degree; OR have 1 year (52 weeks) of specialized experience at or equivalent to a GS-9 Program Analyst Position; OR a combination of education and experience as listed below.
Examples of specialized experience for the GS-343-11 level include but are not limited to: 1) Collecting and analyzing information from diverse data sources including interviews; 2) Evaluating internal and external policy; 3) Communicating complex and/or controversial issues both in writing and verbally; 4) Preparing segments of evaluation reports addressing an organization's productivity and efficiency, including conclusions and recommendations; 5) Possessing sound knowledge of how to use various databases and spreadsheets, and developing graphs, charts, and other data visualizations to organize, analyze, and present a variety of data.
Time in Grade Requirement: Applicants who have held a General Schedule (GS) position within the last 52 weeks must have 52 weeks of Federal service at the next lower grade level (or equivalent).
Education
At the GS-09 grade you can qualify if you possess a master's or equivalent degree or 2 years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to a master's degree or equivalent degree OR 2 full years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to such a degree.
At the GS-11 grade you can qualify if you successfully completed a Ph.D. or equivalent doctoral degree or 3 full years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to such a degree.
