Serves as a Service Area Contingency Technical Liaison supporting the Technical Operations National Contingency Planning Support (TONC)

Duties

Serves as a technical expert with experience and expert technical knowledge of all facilities, equipment, and interconnectivity in the National airspace (NAS) to advance emergency management principles, concepts, and procedures. The incumbent's expertise in NAS equipment will be used to conduct functional activities for projects/programs that often require the development of new and innovative approaches. Acts as Subject Matter Technical Expert (SME) in incident management principles as they apply to the NAS. Maintains a persistent situational awareness of potential threats that could cause NAS service interruptions and balancing that with existing impacts of equipment outages, the incumbent will make real-time critical decisions in support of NAS recovery for the Service Area and the flying public. These determinations will be required when an incident exceeds the capability to recover through routine NAS Operations, service interruptions could stem from structural damage to FAA property or the ability for personnel to access or staff facilities.

  • Selective Service Registration is required for males born after 12/31/1959.

  • Designated or Random Drug Testing required.
  • Valid state driver's license is required.

Qualifications

To qualify for this position you must demonstrate in your application that you possess specialized experience equivalent to the next lower level/grade FV-I, FG/GS-13. Specialized experience is experience that has equipped you with the particular knowledge, skills, and abilities to perform successfully the duties of the position.
