This position is being recruited under 10 USC 1599f into the Cyber Excepted Service and does NOT convey eligibility to be converted to the Competitive Service. It has been identified as a position necessary to carry out and support the mission of the US Cyber Command.
It is in the Professional Work Category at the Full Performance Work Level within the CES Occupational Structure. It is located in the DISA DCSC/TRANSPORT SERVICES DIRECTORATE.
Duties
Provide advice to technical personnel who are responsible for the installation and maintenance of equipment and systems.
Perform project management duties, when applicable, which includes responsibility for ensuring project goals are accomplished.
Meet with customers and technical personnel to define user requirements and determine the most efficient means of accomplishing objectives and resolving technical issues.
Develop agency policy with respect to the assigned equipment or systems
Conduct evaluations of telecommunications systems, projects, or programs to determine future expenditures.

Basic Requirements:
This position has an Individual Occupational Requirement. To meet minimum qualifications for this position, you must meet one of the requirements described below:
Undergraduate and Graduate Education: Major study -- electrical or electronic engineering, mathematics, physics, public utilities, statistics, computer science, telecommunications management, information systems management, business administration, industrial management, or other fields related to the position to be filled.
Applicants must have IT-related experience demonstrating the following competencies appropriate to, or above, the level of this position. Your resume and work experience should clearly support your ability to meet these competencies and will be evaluated as part of the entire application process.

Qualifying Experience:
To qualify at the GG-13, your resume must describe at least one year of experience that demonstrates the competencies necessary for immediate success in the position. Experience refers to any paid or unpaid experience, including volunteer work and Military service, that would be considered equivalent to work normally performed at the next lower grade level in the federal service. For this position, qualifying experience is defined as: Experience troubleshooting telecommunications and IT networks. Experience managing and configuring communications security devices and navigating Risk Management Framework (RMF). Experience creating, reviewing, and briefing technical briefings and presentation to high-ranking officials, as well as working directly with engineers, program managers, and cybersecurity teams.
