This position is located within the Minneapolis VA Health Care System within the Geriatrics and Extended Care Service Line. Employee will serve as a Program Support Assistant focusing on the administration and direction of all Extended Care and Rehabilitation Service Line (EC&R) training, residency, and fellowship programs. This is not a remote or virtual position, you must live within or be willing to relocate within a commutable distance of the duty location.

Major duties listed but not limited to:
Establish policies and procedures in relation to assignment and will adapt policies when unique situations apply
Provide direct program administration and oversight for the University of Minnesota Medical Schools Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation (PM&R) residency categorical transitional internship and Accreditation Council for Graduate Medical Education (ACGME) accredited Pain Medicine fellowship
Serve as the primary coordinator of all Extended Care & Rehabilitation (EC&R) training programs as well the administrative liaison between the EC&R service line, the Minneapolis VA Health Care System and the affiliated academic training programs
Perform ADPAC duties for the trainees working with the entire EC&R and Spinal Cord Injuries and Disorders (SCI/D) service lines
Serve as Talent Management System (TMS) Administrator for EC&R, which includes assigning appropriate modules to trainees as well as staff, providing support for trainees, staff and supervisors for usage of TMS
Develop electronic data management systems needed to maintain critical operating information of the service line's education programs
Maintain accurate records and reports to assist with program planning, documentation of continuing education requirements, and certification of continuing education for clinical staff
Work Schedule: Monday-Friday, 8:30 a.m. - 4:30 p.m. (work hours may be further discussed during the interview)
Telework, Ad Hoc: Ad Hoc telework occurs on an occasional, non-routine basis- for example, inclement weather or telework that occurs to complete short-term special assignments or to accommodate special circumstances even though the telework arrangement may occur continuously for a limited and specific period of time. VA supports the use of telework as a way to help attract and retain talented individuals in public service, increase worker productivity and better prepare the agency to operate during emergencies. This position may be authorized for telework. Telework eligibility will be discussed during the interview process.

Qualifications
To qualify for this position, applicants must meet all requirements by the closing date of this announcement, 11/27/2023.
Time-In-Grade Requirement: Applicants who are current Federal employees and have held a GS grade any time in the past 52 weeks must also meet time-in-grade requirements by the closing date of this announcement. For a GS-07 position you must have served 52 weeks at the GS-06. The grade may have been in any occupation, but must have been held in the Federal service. An SF-50 that shows your time-in-grade eligibility must be submitted with your application materials. If the most recent SF-50 has an effective date within the past year, it may not clearly demonstrate you possess one-year time-in-grade, as required by the announcement. In this instance, you must provide an additional SF-50 that clearly demonstrates one-year time-in-grade. Note: Time-In-Grade requirements also apply to former Federal employees applying for reinstatement as well as current employees applying for Veterans Employment Opportunities Act of 1998 (VEOA) appointment.
You may qualify based on your experience as described below:
GS-07 Specialized Experience: You must have one year of specialized experience equivalent to at least the next lower grade GS-06 in the normal line of progression for the occupation in the organization. Examples of specialized experience would typically include, but are not limited to: create and manage computer access accounts for trainees; provide initial training and orientation to trainees regarding computer programs; able to troubleshoot user problems, fix problems and/or initiate help-desk requests for repair of IT equipment used by employees; generate various quarterly reports and analyze data; monitor and track finances associated with the service line; utilize various computer applications including spreadsheets, databases, word processing and presentations; perform administrative support and analysis duties in support of service line leadership; draft routine operating policies, plans or procedures for leadership's review and modify based on feedback provided; schedule appointments, conferences and coordinate meetings for the residency program managers; and serve as a liaison between all stakeholders.
