This position is located in the Division of Information Technology, Chief Information Officer Organization, Chief Data Officer Staff, Washington DC of the Federal Deposit Insurance Corporation and provides support in formulating the overall FDIC IT strategic vision in partnership with business leaders to establish enterprise goals and strategies.

Duties
Develops architectures, governance, and technologies that support modern, cloud-based, foundational, data management and data analytic/artificial intelligence and machine learning capabilities.
Provides expert guidance on the development and implementation of the corporate information architecture and transformation roadmap that leverages FDIC’s target state Data Ecosystem including enterprise data management and data governance.
Develops detailed migration strategies that support agile movement of data, applications, and platforms from legacy environments, including on premise and mainframe architectures, to modern hybrid multi-cloud environments within the restrictions of a Federal government IT environment.
Conducts gap analysis to identify gaps between the current and the target data architecture state and works collectively with management and staff to develop effective plans and investment cases designed to accelerate transition to FDIC’s modern target architecture state and simplify the data and technology landscape.
Leads integrated project teams (IPT's) to analyze business and technology trends and strategies to ensure data strategies and architecture remains relevant to business needs; address strategic initiatives; and address material gaps in the target data architecture.
Maintains institutional awareness of industry and FDIC data-related privacy and security requirements across Federal Information Security Modernization Act (FISMA), Federal Risk and Authorization Management Program (FedRAMP) and FDIC’s Assess & Authorize (A&A) processes.
Qualifications
Qualifying experience may be obtained in the private or public sector. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g. Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic, religious spiritual; community; student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. To qualify, applicants must have completed at least one year of specialized experience equivalent to at least the GS-14 grade level or above in the Federal service. Specialized experience is defined as experience implementing enterprise cloud data management capabilities, enterprise data architectures, enterprise data practices, and enterprise data analytic capabilities using modern cloud-based techniques.
