You will serve as a Human Resources Assistant (Military) in the Manpower and Reserve Affairs Department of HQ US MARINE CORPS. This position is located in the Performance Evaluation Review/Records Correction Section, Manpower Management Performance Branch. The mission of the section is to receive, review and adjudicate appeals of error or injustice in performance evaluation and reenlistment codes.

Duties

You will analyze cases/requests and develop recommendations to the supervisor on the course of action in terms of soliciting and coordinating advisories. You will maintain a database to track the status of cases. You will interpret and analyze issues of regulation, policy, and law and develop and prepare clear explanations of case facts and issues. You will advise Marines on all aspects of the appeals process.

  • Must be determined suitable for federal employment.

  • You will be required to obtain and maintain an interim and/or final security clearance prior to entrance on duty. Failure to obtain and maintain the required level of clearance may result in the withdrawal of a job offer or removal.

Qualifications

Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-07 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: Correcting and adjusting re-enlistment codes to records, administering the processing of appeals to records from initial receipt through final resolution, and MUST have experience with reviewing appeal requests and providing recommendations.
