About the Position: The primary purpose of this position is to perform office automation work, including word processing, and a variety of clerical functions in support of the organization's mission and functions within Evans Army Community Hospital (EACH) duty location Colorado Springs, CO.
Duties
Answer telephones and give information to callers, take messages, or transfer calls to appropriate individuals.
Use judgment to answer recurring questions and resolve problems.
Use various functions of software types such as calendars, electronic mail, spreadsheets, or graphics to produce a variety of documents.
Perform a broad range of duties using a web-based customer feedback system.
Present report findings at briefings and/or meetings.
Performs a variety of receptionist, clerical, and administrative functions.
Requirements
- This position is inclement weather essential. This means that you must be willing to make every attempt to report for duty on time and/or remain on duty during severe weather conditions.
- Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
- This position requires a mandatory seasonal influenza vaccine and is therefore subject to annual seasonal influenza vaccinations.
- This position may require periodic immunizations (other than the influenza vaccine) and tuberculosis monitoring.

In order to qualify, you must meet the education and/or experience requirements described below. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student; social). You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. Your resume must clearly describe your relevant experience; if qualifying based on education, your transcripts will be required as part of your application. Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes documented/demonstrated experience in as 1) performing routine clerical duties such as receiving phone calls and department's visitors, checking and sending mails/emails, records and document fillings, etc; 2) preparing documents, correspondence and/or reports using a variety of office automation software such as word processing, desktop publications, spreadsheet, and using graphics etc; AND 3) providing proper and accurate information to customers in accordance with the organization's directives, guidance and/or regulations to include briefings and/or orientations. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-04).
OR
Education: Four years of education above the high school level obtained in an accredited business, secretarial or technical school, junior college, college or university. (Note: You must attach a copy of your transcripts.)
OR
Combination of Education and Experience: A combination of education and experience may be used to qualify for this position as long as the computed percentage of the requirements is at least 100%. To compute the percentage of the requirements, divide your total months of experience by 12. Then divide your semester hours of education beyond two years (total semester hours minus 60) by 60. Add the two percentages. (Note: You must attach a copy of your transcripts.)
