Joining the Secret Service, Office of Human Resources, Human Resources Research & Assessment Division, will allow you to utilize your expertise in program management, research methodology, and human resources management to provide effective Human Resources (HR) program coordination and facilitation strategies and services required for the maintenance of the agency’s HR assessment programs. Qualifications
You qualify for the GS-12 level (starting salary $94,199) if you possess one year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-11 level performing duties such as: assisting with the development of assessment criteria for surveys, programs, or processes; utilizing systems to organize, and present data in the form of reports, briefs, or presentations; researching and analyzing data, policies, procedures, or other operations that require evaluation; reviewing documents such as policies, procedures, federal laws, or regulations and providing guidance or recommendations; writing reports, and other informational documents to convey findings, arguments, or solutions based on the interpretation of data.
You qualify for the GS-13 level (starting salary $112,015) if you possess one year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-12 level performing duties such as: developing and providing guidance to stakeholders regarding assessment criteria for surveys, programs, or processes; conducting research, identifying trends, and making recommendations to enhance human resources programs and initiatives; planning and leading the evaluation of program operations and formulating recommendations that address issues impacting operations; performing data entry and analysis using an applicable computer software program (e.g., Excel, Access, or SPSS); and preparing briefing documents or executive summaries to convey findings or solutions based on the interpretation of data.
Time-in-Grade Requirements: Under competitive merit promotion procedures, any individual who is currently holding, or who has held within the previous 52 weeks, a General Schedule position under a non-temporary appointment in the competitive or excepted service, must meet "time-in-grade" requirements (have served 52 weeks at the next lower grade of the grade for which you are applying). Time-In-Grade requirements also apply to current competitive service employees applying for a Veterans Employment Opportunities Act of 1998 (VEOA) appointment. NOTE: All current or former Federal employees must provide a copy of their SF-50, "Notice of Personnel Action" that indicates proof of status and time-in-grade eligibility. The SF-50 must include your position, title, series, grade, step, tenure (1 or 2), and type of service (Competitive or Excepted). You may need to submit more than one SF-50 to comply.
