Duties

Serve as a Scenario Planner within the Joint Pacific Multinational Training Center (JPMRC), U.S. Army Pacific (USARPAC) in support of Combat Training Center, U.S. National Military Strategy and theater/ regional contingency. Integrate USARPAC units, themes, and products into all aspects of Army, joint, inter-organizational, and multinational exercises. During the exercise, mans the exercise control (EXCON) cell and/or exercise white cell. Designs and creates exercise related products and master scenario events lists (MSELs). Serve as the JPMRC subject matter expert when providing necessary information for development of current and future simulations. Provide expertise in the conduct of war games and simulations on matters pertaining to total force units and operations. Serve as JPMRC staff action officer for assigned training event or exercise plans. Develop, coordinate, and maintain methodology and procedures in the use of evaluative methods and techniques to initiate and/or maintain cognizance of plans and associated programs.

Requirements

  • Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
  • Employee must be able to obtain and maintain a "Secret" security clearance for the duration of employment.
  • During rotational exercises, the employee is required to work a flexible duty hours which includes - weekends, holidays, and shift work consistent of 10-12 hours days for an extended 2-week period.
  • Temporary Duty (TDY) may be required up to 50% of the time.
  • This position has a requirement to lift up to 25lbs. in the regular performance of duties.

Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes planning, preparing, coordinating, and executing Civil Affairs staff exercises focused at theater, combined joint task force (CJTF), task force (TF), and battalion operational levels for both conventional and special operations Civil Affairs units; designing and constructing headquarters and staff level exercises and builds theater specific scenarios to test a full range of war-fighting capabilities. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-11). Some federal jobs allow you to substitute your education for the required experience in order to qualify. For this job, you must meet the qualification requirement using experience alone--no substitution of education for experience is permitted. You will be evaluated on the basis of your level of competency in the following areas: Organizational Performance AnalysisPlanning and EvaluatingWritten Communication Time in Grade Requirement: Applicants who have held a General Schedule (GS) position within the last 52 weeks must have 52 weeks of Federal service at the next lower grade or equivalent (GS-11).
