You will serve as a LOGISTICS MANAGMENT SPECIALIST in the LOGISTICS DIVISION, SUBMARINE TECHNICAL SUPPORT CENTER of SUBMARINE TECHNICAL SUPPORT CENTER.

Duties

You will evaluate and assure accurate and adequate logistics support is delivered to the fleet. You will establish policies and overall program objectives. You will prepare comprehensive technical reports, and when required, formal correspondence, identifying all significant aspects problems, its causes and the corrections applied at the conclusion of work assignments. You will secure repair parts from other activities, coordinating materials and suppliers, and discuss maintenance planning. You will provide logistic management, oversight, coordination, support of organized teams involving government technician's, engineer's and military/contractor members. You will conduct logistical audits, assessments, inventories, installations, and engineering change updates on U.S. Submarines.

  • You will be required to successfully complete a pre-appointment physical examination.
  • You will be required to obtain and maintain an interim and/or final security clearance prior to entrance on duty. Failure to obtain and maintain the required level of clearance may result in the withdrawal of a job offer or removal.
  • You will be required to wear personal protective equipment such as helmets, gloves, coveralls, glasses, goggles, respirators and safety shoes continuously for the duration of the work shift.
  • Work is performed in areas where potentially harmful physical and chemical agents are present (e.g. fumes, dust, heat, ionizing and non-ionizing radiation and chemicals). You will be required to participate in medical surveillance programs.
  • This position may require travel from normal duty station to CONUS and OCONUS and may include remote or isolated sites. You must be able to travel on military and commercial aircraft for extended periods of time.
  • You will be required to obtain and maintain a current valid United States driver’s license.
  • This position is subject to work an uncommon tour, including nights, weekends, and holidays to meet mission requirements. Overtime or night differential pay and/or unusual duty hours may be required.

Qualifications

Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-09 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: *Experience with logistic related supply, training, inventory, database management operations, principles, practices, procedures, and program support requirements corresponding to mission/program goals. *Experience with Allowance Parts List/Equipment List (APL/AEL), Onboard Repair Parts, Maintenance Assistance Modules and other COSAL Maintenance actions (e.g., AWRs and CKs). *Experience with the US Navy's 3M system and NAVSUP procedures. *Experience with ILS Management tools (e.g., Fed-Log, GDAPL, ATIS, NLL, TDMIS, NAVICP, DLA, AIMTC Databases and Accesses) used to identify, cross reference and research part number, stock numbers, APLs, AELs, technical manuals, CKs and AWRs. Education

In lieu of specialized experience, you may qualify with the following education or combination of both education and experience:

Ph.D. or equivalent doctoral degree

or

3 full years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to such a degree

or

LL.M., if related
