Duties
The Administrative Support Assistant duties include but are not limited to:
Acts as a liaison or handles communication with stakeholders including Veterans Affairs Central Office (VACO), Veterans Health Administration (VHA), National Program Offices and Regional/VISN/Facility Staff to build relationships, share strong practices, and address barriers.
Develops and maintains effective office systems, procedures and communications, making necessary changes to ensure efficiency of the Consolidated Human Resources Office.
Strong organizational and tracking skills are required for maintenance and compliance of recurring actions, assignment of all new action items, and meeting tight deadlines.
Provides technical assistance and support for regularly scheduled meetings, conference calls, video teleconferences, and webinars from problem identification to resolution, with expert assistance from IT technical support when needed.
Serves as a timekeeper by preparing, maintaining and submitting electronic timecards for designated staff. Reminds approving official of the deadline to approve timecards and serves as back-up timekeeper for other VISN Human Resources administrative support.
Serves as a VISN ADPAC assisting staff in obtaining computer access and necessary menu/security keys utilizing the ePAS system.
Incumbent may be required to consult with Veterans Affairs Central Office (VACO), Veterans Health Administration (VHA), National Program Offices and Regional/VISN/Facility Staff to achieve the desired outcome on various taskings.
Serves as a government purchase card holder
Work Schedule: Monday-Friday; 8:00 am-4:30 pm.
Telework: This position may be authorized ad hoc telework only. Employees will be expected to report to the duty station upon selection. Telework eligibility may be discussed during the interview process.

Specialized Experience: You must have one year of specialized experience equivalent to at least the next lower grade GS-05 in the normal line of progression for the occupation in the organization. Examples of specialized experience would typically include, but are not limited to: providing administrative support; collecting, compiling and tracking data and information; processing documents and reports; establishing, updating and maintaining office files and records; performing automation duties using software applications such as Microsoft word processing, Microsoft Excel, Powerpoint, electronic mail, desktop publishing, calendar, database and/or graphics; answering telephones, referring visitors, and providing information.

Physical Requirements: The work is mostly sedentary. However, at times there may be periods of walking, standing, bending and lifting of equipment weighing less than 40 pounds. The work requires pushing, pulling and carrying media educational equipment.
