The primary purpose of this position is to provide primary support to the squadron director by performing and assisting with administrative management work required in the operation and mission of the squadron.

Duties

1. Conducts a wide variety of administrative management duties in support of the Squadron mission and operations. 2. Performs Squadron budget administrative functions in the planning and execution of the various annual Squadron operating and expense budgets. 3. Plans, organizes, coordinates, and accomplishes assigned workload (other duties as assigned). 4. Complies with directives, regulations, processes and other guidance. 5. Works to achieve and support quality improvement in all products and services.

Qualifications

Experience requirements are described in the Office of Personnel Management (OPM) Qualification Standards for General Schedule Positions, Administrative and Management Positions. Due to the use of 120-day rosters, this period of experience may be completed within 120 days of the closing date of this announcement. SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE: Applicants must have at least one year (52 weeks) of specialized experience at the next lower grade GS-07, or equivalent in other pay systems. Examples of specialized experience includes experience managing the oversight and execution of administrative program activities of an office and functions, accomplishing special projects in support of an organization, and providing support to management with administrative program support functions and taskings. NOTE: Due to the use of 120-day rosters, this period of experience may be completed within 120 days of the closing date of this announcement. OR EDUCATION: Master's or equivalent graduate degree, or 2 full years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to such a degree, or LL.B. or J.D., if related. OR COMBINATION OF EXPERIENCE AND EDUCATION: A combination of education and experience may be used to qualify for this position as long as the computed percentage of the requirements is at least 100%. NOTE: You must submit a copy of official transcripts. FEDERAL TIME-IN-GRADE (TIG) REQUIREMENT FOR GENERAL SCHEDULE (GS) POSITIONS: Merit promotion applicants must meet applicable time-in-­grade requirements to be considered eligible. One year at the GS-07 level is required to meet the time-in-grade requirements for the GS-09 level. TIG applies if you are in a current GS position or held a GS position within the previous 52 weeks. KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES (KSAs): Your qualifications will be evaluated on the basis of your level of knowledge, skills, abilities and/or competencies in the following areas: 1. Knowledge of management principles, practices, methods and techniques at integrating these with the general management of an organization. 2. Knowledge and understanding of the means for, and problems involved in, obtaining and controlling financial resources needed. 3. Knowledge of the kinds of equipment and material generally used within a software engineering organization. 4. Familiar with methods of documentation identification, indexing filing, control, and the ability to organize identification and distribution systems. 5. Knowledge of configuration management principles. 6. Skilled in operation personal computers, word processors, spreadsheets, databases and other management tools/systems and of correct grammar, spelling, punctuation, capitalization, and format to be able to accurately prepare and edit written correspondence and reports. 7. Skilled and Ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing. 8. Able to read and interpret written guidance in the form of policy statements, program guidance, directives, regulations, and other related materials. 9. Ability to work given broad, general guidance independently determining plans and appropriate course of actions. PART-TIME OR UNPAID EXPERIENCE: Credit will be given for appropriate unpaid and or part-time work. You must clearly identify the duties and responsibilities in each position held and the total number of hours per week. VOLUNTEER WORK EXPERIENCE: Refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service Programs (i.e., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student and social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge and skills that can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.
