The candidate will serve as a conference planner in the NIST Conference Program and AV Services group.
Duties
The candidate will serve as a conference planner in the NIST Conference Program and AV Services group. The candidate will be responsible for planning, managing, and executing the majority of NIST conferences and special events for the NIST CHIPS Program R&D Office The candidate will independently lead pre-conference meetings with NIST Conference Chairs to obtain conference requirements, provide guidance, and develop conference budgets. The candidate will independently create and manage online registration sites, webpages and applications; coordinate audio-visual services, food and beverage functions, meeting room setups, and hotel room blocks.

Qualifications
Applicants must have 1 year (52 weeks) of specialized experience equivalent to at least the GS-11 (ZA-II at NIST) level. Specialized experience is defined as experience supporting conferences, such as booking meeting room space, coordinating AV services and food and beverage services requests. The candidate must have working knowledge of technologies that support conferences (webpages, online registration systems, conference apps and virtual meeting platforms) with the ability to troubleshoot technical issues, manage timelines for multiple events and projects simultaneously, collaborate with other team members to address client needs, maintain client and customer satisfaction by responding to requests in a timely manner and resolving issues, make recommendations in processes and operations, maintain strong organizational skills with the ability to prioritize tasks, and proven writing skills to communicate services to registrants.
Applicants mustl provide two original work-related writing samples. Examples of writing samples include conference proceedings, public event announcement, promotional social media or blog post, conference policy document, event run of show/production schedule, newsletter or press release that demonstrate the ability to write clearly, concisely, and grammatically correct for the general public.
Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done. We will credit all qualifying volunteer experience in your application.
