About the Position: This is a Permanent position as a IT Specialist (Network/SysAdmin) located with the Army Installation Management Command, Directorate of Emergency Services, at Joint Base Lewis-McChord, Washington.

Duties

Installs hardware and software, maintains network operations, and ensures that inquiries and problems concerning networks, computers, peripherals, and services are expeditiously resolved. Maintain procedures for networks, systems operations, data base management, and product assembly and installation to facilitate problem resolution. Provide guidance on technical aspects of networks and ADP equipment. Coordinate support actions with user, management, contractor personnel, and higher levels as required. Maintain a continuing awareness of technical changes in the areas of equipment technology and software development. Prepare user manual or instructions for assigned applications.

Requirements

• Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
• This position requires the incumbent be able to obtain and maintain a determination of eligibility for a Secret security clearance or access for the duration of employment. A background investigation and credit check are required.
• This position requires the incumbent to obtain and maintain the appropriate Information Assurance certification in accordance with DoD 8570.01-M, Information Assurance IAT II training, within 6 months of entry onto duty.
• This position has a requirement to lift up to 50 lbs. in the regular performance of duties.
• May require shift work or rotating shifts to provide coverage on evenings, weekends, holidays and in other situations.
• May be required to perform on-call duties.
• The employee must possess a valid state driver's license to operate a government vehicle for travel between various work locations on the installation.
• This position has been designated "Mission Essential".
