This is a Direct Hire Authority (DHA) solicitation utilizing the DHA for Domestic DIB & MRTFB in DoD to recruit and appoint qualified candidates to positions in the competitive service. About the Position: This position is located in the DIRECTORATE OF STRATEGIC MANAGEMENT, PRODUCTION ENGINEERING DIVISION at Letterkenny Army Depot.

Duties

Make repairs on electronic equipment/subassemblies according to diagrams, work orders, technical manuals, etc. Test electronic equipment/subassemblies for accuracy and improvement. Identify defective circuit elements, power supplies, and subassemblies. Use standard hand tools/test equipment to locate defective parts.

Requirements

• Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
• This position requires the incumbent be able to obtain and maintain a determination of eligibility for a Secret security clearance or access for the duration of employment.
• This position requires the completion of a pre-employment Physical Examination and an annual examination thereafter to ensure the continued, required level of physical health and ability or fitness to perform the duties of the position.
• This position has a requirement to lift up to 40 lbs. in the regular performance of duties.

Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications (Screen Out Element): Ability to do the work of a(n) ELECTRONICS WORKER ~ without more than normal supervision. You have the ability to perform common tasks to include assisting with repairs, replacing and testing electronic components and subassembly parts; and working on electronic items such as circuit elements and voltmeters according to manuals, work orders, and blueprints. - Failure to meet this Screen out Element will result in an ineligible rating. PHYSICAL EFFORT: Work is performed in a standing or setting position. Usually handles items weighing from 10 to 40 pounds. WORKING CONDITIONS: Work is done in well lighted, heated and ventilated areas. Exposed to cuts, bruises, scratches and the possibility of burns from electrical shock.
