This position is located within the Department of Commerce (DOC), National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA), Acquisition and Grants Office (AGO), in Office of Staff Services Management Division (SSMD), with one vacancy located in Silver Spring, Maryland.

Duties

As a Supervisory Management Analyst with the Acquisition and Grants Office (AGO), some of your specific duties will include: - Manage, lead and provide guidance in numerous administrative areas to include: administrative management, budget formulation and execution, financial management, planning and reporting, organizational and employee development, human resources management etc. - Lead, coach and motivate staff professionals to excel in creating positive solutions to improve service delivery and provide excellent internal support services to Acquisition and Grants Office (AGO). Work with peers in National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA) to build and sustain best practices in all management areas. - Develop, analyze and evaluate new or modified management policies, regulations, goals or objectives. Apply broad comprehensive knowledge of functional policies, procedures, and techniques to develop viable programmatic options foe satisfying the organization's changing needs. - Perform the full range of supervisory duties. Plan, schedule, assign, direct and review work of others. Develop performance standards and evaluate work performance of subordinates. Set and adjust short and long term priorities. Provide technical oversight and instruction. Give advice, counsel, or instruction to employees on both work and administrative matters, etc.

Qualifications

Qualification requirements in the vacancy announcements are based on the U.S. Office of Personnel Management (OPM) Qualification Standards Handbook, which contains federal qualification standards. This handbook is available on the Office of Personnel Management's website located at: https://www.opm.gov/policy. SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE: Applicants must possess one year of specialized experience equivalent in difficulty and responsibility to the next lower grade level in the Federal Service. Specialized experience is experience that has equipped the applicant with the particular competencies/knowledge, skills and abilities to successfully perform the duties of the position. This experience need not have been in the federal government. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations e.g., professional; philanthropic, religious; spiritual; community, student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies; knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. To qualify at the GS-14 level: Applicants must possess one full year (52 weeks) of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-13 in the Federal service. Specialized experience MUST include all of the following: - Analyzing and evaluating program policies and processes and providing recommendations for improvements to senior level management; - Leading projects or teams by providing advice or counsel, assigning work, setting priorities, reviewing and evaluating work performance; and - Providing implementation support in developing program and management goals, and policies and procedures.
