This position is part of the Office of Cybersecurity, Energy Security and Emergency Response, Department of Energy. As a Supervisory Management & Program Analyst, you will serve as the Director for the Office of Emergency Management, Safety, and Security. The incumbent provides the Deputy Director, Associate Deputy Director and Office Directors with sound, scientific, and quantitative information in the Office of Emergency Management, Safety, and Security Office.

  • This position is approved to work remotely full-time, but the employee must be located within the Washington, DC locality pay area of the DOE Worksite and must be a realistic commuting distance of the DOE Worksite.
  • You are required to submit a Financial Disclosure Statement, OGE-450, Executive Branch Personnel Confidential Financial Disclosure Report within 30 days of entering the position and annually (5CFR Part 2634, Subpart I USOGE, 6/08).
  • First time supervisors will be required to serve a 1 year probationary period.
  • New supervisors are required to complete 80 hours of supervisory training of which 40 hours must be completed during your first year as a supervisor.
  • Position is Remote (Restricted)- The duty station can be the employees' home, however, must be located within the local commuting area of Washington, DC which has been established as 125 miles or 2.5 hours.

Qualifications

SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS: A qualified candidate's online application and resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience equivalent to the next lower grade level in the Federal service. Specialized experience for this position is defined as meeting ALL of the following: Develops, implements, and reviews a series of long-range work plans in the area of emergency management, security, and safety. Analyze and project long and short-range changes in workloads, budget and staffing levels, support system requirements, training needs and similar factors affecting future organization operations and management. Experience in developing performance standards for a team and assigns work; evaluates work performance, and gives advice, counsel, and/or instruction to employees on both work and administrative matters (e.g., professional development plans, goal setting, training needs). "Experience" refers to paid and unpaid experience. Examples of qualifying unpaid experience may include: volunteer work done through National Service programs (such as Peace Corps and AmeriCorps); as well as work for other community-based philanthropic and social organizations. Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills; and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. Time-in-Grade: Current Federal employees must meet time-in-grade requirements by the closing date of this announcement to receive consideration. CTAP/ICTAP candidates: To be considered "well qualified" you must (1) meet all of the requirements as described in this section; and 2) be rated "well-qualified", which is defined as having a score of 85 or better. You must meet all qualifications and eligibility requirements by the closing date of this announcement.
