You will serve as an EQUIPMENT SPECIALIST (AIRFRAME/ELECTRICIAN) in the STRIKE SUPPORT DIVISION of the AIRCRAFT MATERIAL AND ENGINEERING DIRECTORATE (N421) of COMNAVAIRLANT.
Duties
You will review on a daily basis all correspondence received by the command relating to E-2 / C-2 including their installed equipment.
You will coordinate the planning and distribution of the various configurations of installed E-2 / C-2 Airframes/Avionics with the long-range operating schedules of ships, airwings and squadrons.
You will provide expert opinion and continuity information on a variety of material and engineering topics relating to E-2 / C-2 Airframes/Avionics engineering and material readiness as required.
You will plan and coordinate field and major modification programs negotiating change requirement, kit procurements and delivery schedules to ensure mission capability for operational tasking and to minimize the impact on available assets.
You research, evaluate, and resolve technical engineering problems relating to E-2 / C-2 Airframes/Avionics systems concerning problems of part reliability and maintenance difficulties.
You will review al technical engineering directives including changes, bulletins, Rapid Action Minor Engineering Changes (RAMEC) and Maintenance Engineering Reports.
You will maintain liaison with appropriate personnel on the CNAF staff, contemporaries in the Naval Air Systems Command, Naval Air Systems Command, and Naval Aviation Depot.
You will compile information and provide briefings for CNAF and other flag officers in DOD, OPNAV and NAVAIR and may be required on aircraft configuration management, aircraft maintenance information systems, and related engineering subjects.

- This position may require travel from normal duty station to CONUS and OCONUS and may include remote or isolated sites. You must be able to travel on military and commercial aircraft for extended periods of time.
Qualifications
Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-11 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following:
Experience using physical sciences, engineering principles, aircraft airframe and avionics concepts, manufacturing techniques, maintenance methods and practices in order to interpret, evaluate and advise and take appropriate action on a broad spectrum of airframe matters.
Experience utilizing practices and procedures used in each of the elements of logistic support and evolution of engineering changes on the E-2/C-2 aircraft from design to installation is required.
Experience using general business management principles and of the management principles of the Department of the Navy in budgeting, material acquisition and life cycle support.
Experience and extensive knowledge of E-2/C-2 aircraft airframe and avionics design, operating characteristics, mission environment and configuration management are required.
Experience in effectively communicate orally, both extemporaneously and formally, and in writing to prepare presentations, briefs, technical reports, messages and letters.
Experience editing for content, clarity, accuracy and conformance to policy.
Experience in the development and planning of projects and to the solution of difficult E-2/C-2 Avionics support and changes installation problems.
