About the Position: This position is located within the 366th Medical Group at Mountain Home Air Force base, Idaho.
Duties
Monitor emergency response program operations and requirements to ensure actions taken are in accordance with (IAW) checklists and other regulations.
Manage the policies and procedures of the Medical Readiness Program to ensure continuous process improvement in operations.
Conduct periodic inspections to measure the effectiveness of readiness functions and provide reports of corrective actions required.
Maintain the Annual Medical Readiness Training and Exercise Schedule to ensure that the training and exercise requirements for the Military Treatment Facility are met.
Requirements
- Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
- This position requires the incumbent be able to obtain and maintain a determination of eligibility for a Tier 3 security investigation or access for the duration of employment. A background investigation and credit check are required.
- Incumbent must successfully complete the Medical Readiness Management Course (MRMC) after selection.
- Incumbent must successfully complete the initial level of the Public Health Emergency Management Course (PHEM) within one year of designation as a MEM and complete sustainment training every subsequent 4 years in the role IAW DoDi 6200.03
- Immunization screening is required and the incumbent will be required to obtain missing immunizations or provide physician exemption.
- This position is designated "Mission Essential." In the event of severe weather conditions or other such emergency type situations you are required to report to work or remain at work as scheduled to support mission operations.
- Must be able to obtain and maintain current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification through the American Red Cross or American Heart Association. Advanced certification (e.g., ALS) does not supersede BLS.
- This is an emergency "Emergency Essential" position and is considered essential to support mobilization and wartime mission during
periods of increasing tension or mobilization.
- This is an inclement weather position. The incumbent must make every attempt to report for work on time and/or remain on duty
during severe weather conditions.
- A seasonal influenza vaccination or physician exemption is required for this position.
- This position is eligible for situational telework as mission requirements allow.

In order to qualify, you must meet the Education and/or Experience requirements described below. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student; social). You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. Your resume must clearly describe your relevant experience; if qualifying based on education, your transcripts will be required as part of your application. Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes providing medical disaster guidance for a variety of emergency situations, developing criteria for exercising contingency response plans; AND monitoring emergency response program operations to ensure action requirements are met. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the second lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-09).
OR
Education: Ph.D or equivalent doctoral degree or 3 full years of progressively higher-level graduate education leading to such a degree or LL.M. in a related field which demonstrates the knowledge, skills, and abilities necessary to do the work of the position, such as: Emergency Management.
OR
Combination of Education and Experience: A combination of education and experience may be used to qualify for this position as long as the computed percentage of the requirements is at least 100%. To compute the percentage of the requirements, divide your total months of experience by 12. Then divide the total number of completed graduate semester hours (or equivalent) beyond the second year (total graduate semester hours minus 36) by 18. Add the two percentages.
