About the Position: This position is located in US Army MSCoE Fielded Force Integration Directorate.
Fort Leonard Wood is located in the beautiful South-Central Missouri Ozarks. The Fort covers more than 61,000 acres and is located in Pulaski County, bordering Waynesville/St. Robert and Interstate 44. St. Louis is a 2-hour drive east and Springfield is a 1-hour drive west of Fort Leonard Wood.

Duties
Serves as the Lead Training Support Specialist with the Protection Training Development Branch, FFID, MSCoE.
Incumbent is responsible for developing planning requirements, managing and/or recommending training plans, procedures and policies in support of the Chief, Training Development, as well as Branch programs and initiatives.
The position oversees training integration and critical areas of training management, for resident and non-resident students for Standard Requirement Code (SRC)37 (Protection, Maneuver Enhancement Brigade (MEB), 20th CBRN)
Develops and maintains training materials and curricula for multiple courses and events for all SRC 37 courses. Designs training materials along subject matter or functional specialty area lines, developing training content and materials.
Maintains training materials to be current with SRC 37 and regulatory standards and guidance. Develops new training content and materials or adapts existing materials.
Identifies individual and organization learning challenges and tailors or adapts training approaches to needs. Identifies skills criteria for instructors. Writes SRC 37 training scenarios in multiple disciplines. Provides advice and guidance.
Participates in all phases of planning, implementing, and administering SRC 37 training programs that are responsive to immediate and long-range needs and goals.
Organizes or participates in critical task site selection boards (CTSSB) of functional experts to determine individual and collective critical tasks and unit and residential instructional settings.
Reviews existing courses against the selected tasks to see if courses need modifications, supplements or replacement.
Provide input to the Structure Manning Decision Review (SMDR), Training Resources Arbitration Panels (TRAP), and other training resource processes. Participates various study/working groups.
Develops statistical data pertinent to the annual training program, such as academic attrition, training and statistics. Prepares fact sheets, staff studies, decision papers, and briefings.
Delivers instruction in multiple related subject matter areas, including Protection, Protection WFF, and MEB in support of SRC 37 courses.
Serves as a primary instructor for the Protection Integration Course (PIC) and the Maneuver Enhancement Brigade Pre-Command Course (MEB PCC).
Represents the Branch, Division, and Directorate in actions involving training and training-development related activities with other branches, divisions, directorates, subordinate elements, and adjacent and higher headquarters.
Assists branch Instructional Systems Specialist (ISS) with completing lesson plans. Plans and conducts validity and reliability studies and surveys of training courses over a broad specialty area or cluster of courses.
Establishes evaluation criteria and adapts or extends guidelines and procedures.
Assignments typically cut across a variety of specialty areas in training for a given organization, geographic area, or program area and frequently involve significant training issues.
Plans and conducts studies of advanced courses or other significant matters such as instructional methods, failure and attrition, and other issues affecting a large number of personnel.
Prepares interpretations of results and recommendations. Establishes study and evaluation criteria and develops conclusions and/or recommendations. Analyzes reports from other training personnel, e.g., on and off-site training instructors.
Provides recommendations to supervisor for significant changes. Develops validity and reliability studies for a broad specialty area or cluster of courses.
Requirements
- Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
- Must be able to obtain and retain a Secret clearance.
- The position requires 15% travel within and outside the continental United States.

Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience equivalent which includes: Implement and manage actions related to planning, programming, scheduling, and resourcing of training for a military organization.; Develop and document resource requirements for training programs; Submit documentation into various resource systems for timely acquisition of necessary resources; Review and validate the quality of assigned courses and training material through site visits, review of evaluation questionnaires, and analysis of available data. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-11).
