Duties
If selected at the GS-12 level, the below responsibilities will be performed in a development capacity.
Serves as an expert specialist responsible for providing and obtaining a wide variety of administrative and management directed services essential to the operation of the Defense Logistics Agency (DLA) Vice Director's Office.
Research policy, regulations, and procedures to determine appropriate action.
Analyzes information and data to assess progress of programs, projects, and processes.
Serves as a project officer, developing plans and objectives for assigned projects.
Initiates and conducts studies and analysis on projects, issues, and problem cases.
Provides direction and relays executive guidance to effectively manage taskings, resolve problems, answer questions, correct deficiencies, evaluate support to management, and ensure objectives are met.
Primary manager of the Vice Director's calendar, with exclusive control over scheduling the Vice Director's appointments.
Coordinates all logistical requirements for official travel by the Vice Director and other personnel as
required.

Qualifications
To qualify for an Executive Assistant your resume and supporting documentation must support:
Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience that equipped you with the particular competencies
to successfully perform the duties of the position and is directly in or related to this position. To qualify at the GS-13
level, applicants must possess one year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-12 level or equivalent
under other pay systems in the Federal service, military, or private sector. To qualify at the GS-12 level, applicants
must possess one year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-11 level or equivalent under other pay
systems in the Federal service, military, or private sector. Applicants must meet eligibility requirements including
time-in-grade (General Schedule (GS) positions only), time-after-competitive appointment, minimum qualifications,
and any other regulatory requirements by the cut-off/closing date of the announcement. Creditable specialized
experience includes:
GS-13:
- Providing administrative support services to executive level staff to include scheduling and travel management.
- Initiating and conducting studies and analysis on projects, issues, and problem cases.
- interpreting and adapting available guidance to resolve specific issues.
- Developing plans and objectives for assigned projects.
GS-12:
- Researching policy, regulations, and procedures to determine appropriate action.
- Providing administrative support services to staff/management to include scheduling and travel management.
- Assisting in the development of plans and objectives for assigned projects.
Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional, philanthropic, religious, spiritual, community, student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.
Education
Substitution of education may not be used in lieu of specialized experience for this grade level.
