This position is located within the Coast Guard’s Suspension and Revocation Center of Expertise (S&R NCOE), Office of Investigations and Casualty Analysis (CG-INV), Inspections and Compliance Directorate (CG-5PC), co-located at the Coast Guard’s National Maritime Center (NMC) in Martinsburg, West Virginia.
This position may be filled through means other than the competitive promotion process.
Duties
This position serves as an expert with regard to Coast Guard’s S&R program and provides assistance and advice to the Office of Investigations and Casualty Analysis (CG-INV), CG-LMI, Sector Commanders, and IOs on issues involving S&R, data systems, and policies.
Requirements
- U.S. Citizenship is required.
- Males born after 12/31/1959 must be registered for Selective Service.
- Time-in-grade requirements must be met by closing date.
- A one year probationary period maybe required.
Qualifications
To qualify for the GS-13: Applicants must possess one year of specialized experience equivalent to the next lowest grade level (GS-12 level) in the federal service. Specialized experience is experience that has equipped you with the particular ability, skill, and knowledge to successfully perform the duties of this position and is typically in or related to this line of work. Applicant MUST meet the 3 conditions below:
Investigating crimes or administrative offenses; AND
Preparing case reports and/or pleadings to be filed with a court; AND
Intermediary level of computer systems (i.e. word-processing, spreadsheets, communications, databases, and Internet)
