You will serve as a NUCLEAR MECHANICAL CONTINUITING TRAINING DEVELOPMENT COORDINATOR in the Mechanical Shop (Code 930), Production Resources Manager (Code 901), Production Resources Department (Code 900) of NORFOLK NAVAL SHIPYARD.
Duties
You will spot audit shop trade theory/core tasks records and qualification records, for conformance with established guidelines.
You will establish metrics to identify material costs expended by each fiscal year for Overhead Expenditures/Labor Expenditures on a monthly basis.
You will maintain monthly the Code/Shop CTD Strategic POAM- courses, materials, manpower on a ten year cycle.
You will provide a draft Quarterly CTD Program Assessment for the CTDL/ND/Director.
You will coordinate procurement, storage, and the use of instructional materials and textbooks, audio-visual aids, training devises, and laboratory equipment.
You will coordinate the keeping of shop/code training plans current and check them for adequacy.
You will maintain a database of Code/Shop CTD Proficiency Course Schedule on an annual basis.
You will participate in the developing, initiating, scheduling, and implementing programs for the development of personnel through Continuing Training and Development Program.

- You will be required to wear personal protective equipment such as helmets, gloves, coveralls, glasses, goggles, respirators and safety shoes continuously for the duration of the work shift.
- This position may require travel from normal duty station to CONUS and OCONUS and may include remote or isolated sites. You must be able to travel on military and commercial aircraft for extended periods of time.
- This position requires that the selectee be willing and able to work in small and/or confined spaces.
- This position requires that the selectee be willing and able to climb ladders and scaffolding.
Qualifications
Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-07 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following:
Experience implementing various training methods, procedures, devices, and resources.
Experience developing, initiating, scheduling, and implementing programs for the development of personnel through Continuing Training and Development Program.
Experience preparing budgets based on plans for maintenance, repair work, existing equipment or increase in services.
Experience conducting audits of shop trade theory/core tasks records and qualification records for conformance with established guidelines.
Experience determining the procurement, storage and use of instructional materials and textbooks, audio-visual aids, training devices, and laboratory equipment.
Experience and knowledge of computer skills to be able to maintain a comprehensive electronic (PDF or Word) file of Mechanic Training Folders (CTD related).
Experience maintaining a database for Proficiency Course Schedule on an annual basis to include mechanic, course to attend, date and time.

Education
In lieu of specialized experience, you may qualify with the following education or combination of both education and experience:
master's or equivalent graduate degree
or
2 full years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to such a degree
or
LL.B. or J.D., if related
