The employee will serve as a Financial Accounts Technician at Fargo VA Health Care System in Fargo, ND. The employee supports all aspects of employee compensation and travel within the Health Care System.
Duties

This position involves a multi-grade career ladder. The major duties listed below represent the full performance level of GS-7. At the GS-6 grade level, you will perform assignments of a more limited scope and with less independence. You will progressively acquire the background necessary to perform at the full performance level of GS-7. Promotion is at the discretion of the supervisor and is contingent upon satisfactory performance, availability of higher-level work and availability of funds.
Duties include, but may not be limited to the following:
Conduct audits ensuring adherence to regulations and policy.
Develop corrective actions to resolve issues identified during audits.
Generate reports and reviews results.
Examine documentation for completeness and accuracy.
Record financial data in an automated system.
Conduct training on regulations, policies and applicable software application/system.
Create training modules to encompass system enhancements, new policies and regulations.
Identify issues and creates a corrective action plan.
Analyze and compares data between multiple systems.
Provide customer service on the phone and via email.
Perform other duties as assigned.
Work Schedule: Monday - Friday, 8:00 am - 4:30 pm (compressed or flex schedule may be considered).

Qualifications
To Qualify for the GS-6: Applicants must possess at least one (1) year of specialized experience that equipped them with the particular knowledge, skills, and abilities to perform successfully the duties of this position, and that is typically in or related to the work of this position. To be creditable, this experience must have been equivalent to at least the GS-5 level in the Federal service. Specialized experience includes: processing travel claims, personnel records, timecards or financial (budget, accounts payable, accounts receivable) transactions; processing travel claims, personnel records and timecards; analyzing data between multiple systems; conducting audits; generating reports; and recording financial data in an automated system.

IMPORTANT: A full year of work is considered to be 35-40 hours of work per week. All experience listed on your resume must include the month and year start/end dates.
