About the Position: Serves as the Administrative Officer. This position is located at the Headquarters USA Training Center and Fort Jackson Soldier Support Institute Adjutant General School at Fort Jackson, SC.

Duties

Serves as the Administrative Officer for the Adjutant General School, Soldier Support Institute, Fort Jackson, SC in support of the Chief of the Adjutant General's Corps. Assists in planning, scheduling, directing, and coordinating the executive, procedural, and administrative functions of the entire Adjutant General School. Provides evaluation and advice to the Commandant and staff on the organization, methods and procedures involved with management and administrative support systems.

Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes: 1) preparing all reports for the command to assure proper formats are adhered: 2) assisting staff personnel or visitors in a variety of administrative matters; AND 3) screening all incoming calls to ensure they are directed to appropriate staff members for action. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the second lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-07). OR Education: Master's or equivalent graduate degree or 2 full years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to such a degree in a field which demonstrates the knowledge, skills, and abilities necessary to do the work of the position, such as: Business Administration or Business Management. OR Combination of Education and Experience: A combination of education and experience may be used to qualify for this position as long as the computed percentage of the requirements is at least 100%. To compute the percentage of the requirements, divide your total months of experience by 12. Then divide the total number of completed graduate semester hours (or equivalent) beyond the first year (total graduate semester hours minus 18) by 18. Add the two percentages. You will be evaluated on the basis of your level of competency in the following areas: Administration and ManagementCustomer ServiceManages and Organizes Information Time in Grade Requirement: Applicants who have held a General Schedule (GS) position within the last 52 weeks must have 52 weeks of Federal service at the next lower grade or equivalent (GS-07).
