You will serve as a HUMAN RESOURCES ASSISTANT (MILITARY) in the Directorate for Administration, Human Resources Department, Naval Hospital Beaufort, South Carolina of NMRTC BEAUFORT SC.

Duties

You will respond to visitor and caller inquiries regarding military awards and special pay entitlements. You will perform duties relating to personnel processing, personnel manning, transition, separation, retirement support or special actions. You will provide clerical or technical work supporting military personnel programs, operations, or functions. You will ensure incoming and departed personnel are accurately entered and processed in manpower databases. You will establish and maintain files for retrieval and reviews incoming correspondence. You will maintain and order office supplies utilizing systems such as Defense Medical Logistics Standard Support (DMLSS) automated system. You will serve as an assistant to the assistant Plan Operations and Medical Intelligence (POMI) coordinator on command readiness.

Requirements

  • Must be a US Citizen.
  • Must be determined suitable for federal employment.
  • Must participate in the direct deposit pay program.

  • Generally, current federal employees applying for GS jobs must serve at least one year at the next lower grade level. This requirement is called time-in-grade. Time-in-grade requirements must be met by the closing date of this announcement.
  • Within the Department of Defense (DoD), the appointment of retired military members within 180 days immediately following retirement date to a civilian position is subject to the provisions of 5 United States Code 3326.
  • Males born after 12-31-59 must be registered for Selective Service.
  • You will be required to obtain and maintain an interim and/or final security clearance prior to entrance on duty. Failure to obtain and maintain the required level of clearance may result in the withdrawal of a job offer or removal.

Qualifications

Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-05 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: Utilizing knowledge of military policies, procedures, rules, and regulations to maintain military personnel service records; Researching information in military records and databases in order to respond to inquiries regarding military human resources issues; Utilizing automated systems to create and maintain military records.
